Queries Sent to Search Providers
A name, place, or other query entered in an embedded search tool is sent to the third-party company that operates that tool. This site does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages Sent Directly
If you send an email or contact message, its contents and reply details may be retained long enough to answer and manage the exchange. Messages are not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Technical Data From Visits
Routine server, analytics, and advertising systems may receive basic technical details when a page loads, including:
- the internet protocol address used for the request;
- browser name and version;
- device category and operating system;
- pages viewed and approximate time spent;
- the referring website, when supplied; and
- the date and time of the request.
Cookie Controls
Cookies can help measure how visitors use the pages and support site functions. Most browsers allow cookies to be blocked or cleared. Some tools may work differently when cookies are disabled.
Reasons Data Is Used
The limited information described above supports basic operation and measurement. It may be used to:
- operate the site and improve loading speed;
- send a requested search to the selected partner service;
- understand which pages visitors find useful;
- detect and correct technical faults; and
- display advertising that may reflect general interests.
Privacy Beyond These Pages
Links lead to Hinds release-record pages, Sheriff and MDOC resources, government portals, and outside search tools. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination's own privacy terms control its collection and use of data.
Some advertising providers may use their systems to recognize activity across different websites and choose interest-based ads. That cross-site processing occurs under the provider's policies, not on this site's own records.
Parties That May Receive Data
We do not sell personal information. Data may still be handled by limited service categories needed to operate the site or meet a legal duty:
- search partners that process a query sent to them;
- analytics providers that measure site use;
- advertising networks that deliver ads; and
- law enforcement or another government body acting under a valid legal order.
Reasonable Security Measures
Standard safeguards are used to reduce avoidable access and loss. No website, network, or storage system connected to the internet can be guaranteed fully secure, however, and this site cannot promise that a breach will never occur.

The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted information may contact us and request its deletion.

Depending on applicable law and the information actually held, a person may ask to:
- receive a copy of personal information we maintain;
- correct inaccurate personal information;
- delete qualifying information; or
- opt out of certain forms of processing.
